Today I found 2 pairs of clogs, AM Toffeln’s 100 Spring Clogs and Airwalk’s Compel Clogs. I wonder which is a better choice. Below are some of the information I found on both of the clogs.

If you have either one of these clogs, please do a brief review and help us find out what are the benefits of each of the pair of clogs. Thank you.Â

Every April is, the annual Foot Health Awareness Month. So what exactly is a Foot Health Awareness month?

This is the month when podiatric organisation wants to educate and provide awareness to members of the public. And during this month, a lot of foot health related activities will take place.

Our feet take an awful pounding. They support our bodies and balance us – and the average person walks the equivalent of five times round the Earth in a lifetime.

Yet most people give very little thought to their feet until problems occur. They may be meticulous about regular check-ups for their eyes and teeth, but not their feet.

Everyone of us should start to take good care of our feet so that in the long run they will take good care of us.

A podiatrist is a healthcare professional (a doctor) with medical school preparation in diagnosing and treating the foot, ankle, and sometimes knee, leg and hip (collectively known as the lower extremity). Podiatrists are an integral part of the health care team in the public and private sectors. A podiatrist generally are required to have a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree, is often expected to have had a two year postdoctoral residency.

Podiatric specialists in primary care, orthopedics, and podiatric surgery should be board certified. Although board certification is not an indicator of a podiatrist’s exact skill level, certification does ensure that a podiatrist has passed all exams and completed the required residency period.

For example, a primary care podiatrist works in a family practice environment, while an orthopedic podiatrist prescribes supportive devices for the foot, ankle, and lower leg. Whereas a podiatric surgeon performs surgery on the foot, ankle, and lower leg, such as reconstructive surgery in an arthritic patient to lessen pain and improve mobility etc.

Foot health problems affect athletes and sedentary people alike and can cause pain in the lower back and other joints by changing how you walk or run (antalgic gait). Foot problems include infections, sporting or overuse injuries, or can be the consequence of some systemic diseases, such as diabetes.

Many people, young and old, rely on podiatrists to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This means podiatrists have a broad and interesting job caring for feet. It is an exciting profession that offers you the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of many members of the community.
